Mine, in Studio

My children rarely let me take their picture any more.  I usually have to sneak a pic or two when we're out doing something.  So the fact that they let me take them up to my studio and take these photos is a big deal!!!  And it makes me love the images even more!! shot on my Mamiya 645 using Portra 400

Portrait of a Little Girl, in Film

If you follow my blog then you know that I've been playing around with shooting film again.  I love the texture of it (and the ease!!)  The only problem is, it's super dark here in Seattle!!! I love the look of 100 and 400 speed film, but I just don't have enough light to pull it off.... so, I'm now practicing with 3200.  This session was shot using Ilford Delta 3200, and I'm absolutely in LOVE with it!!!  It's so soft and pretty!!!  It just may be my new favorite film!

Film and Digital, Side by Side

Since the beginning of the year I've been incorporating film into my studio sessions.  It's been so fun for me!  I love the texture of film and the sharpness of digital.  Both mediums have something special to offer, and to see them side by side gives me a little thrill!  The second and last image in this series were shot on my Mamiya 645 with Kodak Portra 400.  The others were shot on my Cannon 5D II.  I love them all! And I absolutely LOVE each and every portrait of this beautiful new mother with her little man!  Pure joy!

Catching Up!

I have had so many adorable families come through the studio lately!  And because it's been so busy, I've fallen behind on my blogging!  :(  But that is all about to change... I'm going to do my best to catch up, one adorable family at a time!  Enjoy!
