Hey friends... I just wanted to pop on here to say hello and introduce myself. I'm Sandra. Like many of you, I'm a very busy person. I'm a wife and mom as well as a photographer, educator and entrepreneur. . Sometimes we forget that there are actual real life people behind these social media feeds.... So, I want to take this opportunity to share some things about me and my life. . I rebranded myself and started building the business that I have today about 10 years ago. Before that time I had bounced around without any real focus or direction for my work. I shot weddings, birthday parties, events, headshot, real-estate, pets... anything that would pay. . I made just about every mistake there is to make when running a business. In doing so, I got to the point where I was burnt out and ready to quit. . Thats when I decided to makes some changes. I stopped comparing myself to others. I stopped looking at other photographer's work. I stopped being concerned about what other people were charging.... I stopped everything and just focused on me and what I'm good at, what I love and what I wanted to do. . That journey led me to studio portraiture of newborns and families, which is what I still do to this day, and what I love. . When I rebranded I had to basically re-start my business from scratch. I had two year old twins at home. I worked at nap times and after they went to bed. And it was the beginning of what would come to be called The Great Recession. Not a fantastic time to be relaunching a business. But I learned and focused and built the business I have today. . Why am I telling you this? Because I truly believe that if I can do, anyone can do it. If you are struggling... If you are just starting out... If you are wanting to build a career and life that you love through your art, I want you to know that it is absolutely possible. It really is. I am living proof. . Me... Monday morning after Mini Sessions 😂 Yes, I'm tired, but also so grateful! Mini Sessions are one of my favorite events of the year. I see so many returning families...people who have been with me for years... children I've watch grow up before my eyes. It really is something special! .
